Tradition and Taste

The name "Cechowa" is more than just a signboard – it is a nod to Krakow's centuries-old tradition. The restaurant is located in the historic seat of the Lesser Poland Chamber of Crafts, and its interiors constitute a unique gallery.

The walls are decorated with original coats of arms and emblems of former craft guilds, reminding of the craftsmanship of handicraft masters who built the power of this city.

We are part of living history. The sister organization for the Chamber is the Krakow Congregation of Merchants – an association with a history dating back to 1410.

Respect for the past is written in our DNA: the founder of the restaurant in 1989 stood at the head of this honorable organization, connecting the merchant and craft worlds.

However, the most important thing for us is the history of the people who create this place. It all started in 1980. From that moment, Cechowa has been operating continuously, witnessing history.

From the difficult times of martial law, through the years of transformation, to the present day. Fashion and the system changed, but our hospitality remained unchanged.

Over the years, our thresholds have been visited and are still visited by outstanding personalities from the world of culture, art, science, politics and business.

The fact that we can meet famous Cracovians every day is a huge reason for pride and constant mobilization for work for us.

For ten years now, the second generation of owners has been at the helm of the restaurant. We proudly continue the work of the founder, serving traditional Polish cuisine in an honest, home-style edition.
